Steven’s role goes beyond being an active board member. As MoveDocs co-founder, he is a key ambassador to medical providers and law firms and continues to identify and vet technology and business partners to strengthen Libra’s innovation in the legaltech space.
His career began as a physician and surgeon at UCLA Medical Center where he partnered with Genentech to fast track FDA approval of the biologic medication Omalizumab, a lifesaving medication. At UCLA, Dr. Ainbinder was engaged by tech startups including UptoDate and Healthshore, and was intrigued by ways technology can drive efficiencies in healthcare.
Dr. Ainbinder also served as a medical expert and consultant for law firms where he helped find top experts for cases, construct trial strategy, and assist litigators with trial questions. It was during this time he noticed the inefficiencies in law offices and lack of technology.
His consulting led him to underwriting surgical lien funding cases for Canyon Medical Billing, where he later became a partner, focusing on capitalization, initial return rates, and reducing the time from treatment to demand letter. This drive ultimately led to the creation of MoveDocs.
“I remember reading the book, The Road Less Traveled as a kid and wondering if I would be able to handle life’s challenges. Turns out, challenges are often opportunities for us to identify and seize. I enjoy motivating people to reach their potential, and I think this life lesson often helps.”
